  • On Wednesday mornings and afternoons, St. Peter's Basilica may be closed to the public due to the Papal Audience taking place in Saint Peter’s Square. Customers who wish to visit St. Peter’s Basilica is advised to travel on another day.
  • The Basilica is also subject to last minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, there will be a longer tour of the Vatican Museums instead.
  • Due to specific Vatican rules, tour guide commentaries for Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica will be given at the start of the tour outside the premises of both sites.
  • The tour guide has full discretion to refuse service to customers based on attire, behavior, physical fitness and condition.
  • Non-flash photography is permitted throughout the tour, except in the Sistine Chapel, where photography and talking are prohibited.
  • The no wait skip-the-line access is subject to additional security procedures. Security checks and unforeseen incidents can slow down the entry.

Dressing & Items to Bring

  • This tour involves a fair amount of walking and going through stairs. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Entrance into the Vatican requires a strict dress code. Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women.
  • Please note that large bags/tripods/umbrellas/backpacks are not permitted in the Vatican and must be checked into the free luggage storage area. Please do not bring these items as you may need to leave the tour early to retrieve them at the entrance. Only very small bags are allowed.
